State of Play Seattle-King County: We have work to do to ensure our kids are healthy

The Aspen Institute—in partnership with the University of Washington Center for Leadership in Athletics, the Seattle Parks Department, and other community stakeholders—released the State of Play Seattle King County report today. The report analyses the landscape of youth physical activity through sports, play, and outdoor recreation, with attention given to uncovering barriers to participation and income-based disparities.
In a nutshell, we have work to do here in our region to get our kids the active/play time they need to be physically and emotionally healthy. The report is a must-read for parents, educators, and community leaders.

You can read the full report here. Or, listen to my podcast interview with my colleague and researcher Dr. Julie McCleery, as she shares key findings and recommendations here.
