Grounded in Science. Shaped by Experience.

I work with ambitious people who want to stretch their physical and mental limits to a new edge.

My approach:

No one is exactly like you.

My approach to coaching respects and celebrates that every person is unique in their background, learning style, personality, and physiology. We work together to craft a coaching experience that’s just right for you, because no one else is exactly like you.

And at the same time…

Research matters.

While each person is unique, current research and up-to-date science sets the foundation for our work together. My coaching is rooted in a blend of research and methodologies, including:

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Appreciative Inquiry

  • The Transtheoretical Model of Change

  • The Yerkes-Dodson Law

  • Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development theory

  • The research of Drs. Brene Brown, Carol Dweck, Stacy Sims, and Julie McCleery of the University of Washington’s Ambitious Coaching Project

Core beliefs that shape the way I coach:

How I got here:

I have a deep love of learning, moving, and adventure. My approach to coaching has been shaped through research, observation, and application—through years of coaching endurance athletes, as well as through my own training and performance experiences.
